SmashWords Oddity

Odd things come up when your publishing online. I was just working through SmashWords and they rejected my manuscript because at the end, I had a a reference link to my first novel "The Screaming God" on the Barnes & Noble and Amazon sites. Apparently, linking to other sites in your manuscript is a no-no. Funny, considering they tell you that's the best way to market books right on their site! :-) No worries though, I just changed the link to point to this website, where I'll have all the purchase links available. Sadly, that means re-uploading the file for approval, which adds a few days to the formal release of "Where Dead Fish Go."

Weekend was mostly quiet. Worked on publishing next novel, then spent the day working some family issues for my wife's side yesterday. Her parents, whom I love dearly, arent' spring chickens anymore and health issues and long-term planning, etc. are becoming concerns. Sadly, it's a part of all our lives we can't get around.

I did get to watch season finale of "The Walking Dead" last night (don't worry, no spoilers here!) It was awesome, as always! I am impressed by the writing on the show. They always seem to be able to kick the stress up another notch, just when you think it's not possible. I love writers who have no mercy on their characters and shows (and books!) that have real consequences.

Later!
